PETRAS IoT Hub at #AoIR2017

L I M

PETRAS Standards, Governance and Policy (SGP) Research team was represented at this year’s annual Association of Internet Researchers (AoIR) conference at the University of Tartu in Estonia. The conference brought together hundreds of academics, researchers, graduate students and other participants for an interdisciplinary, multi-methodological look at the Internet.

Dr Leonie Maria Tanczer, Postdoctoral Research Associate for the SGP team, was part of the pre-conference workshop “Academic Freedom 2.0: Thinking Through and Learning to Protect Digital Privacy” and chaired the paper session on the Internet of Things.

As part of the conference, Tanczer organised an informal IoT meeting. The latter embedded the PETRAS Research Hub within an international IoT research community and connected the consortia with fellow IoT scholars from Germany (Dr Christian Djeffal), Hong Kong (Dr Rolien Hoyng), Ireland (Dr Rachel O’Dwyer), Sweden (Dr Airi LampinenVille Sundberg), Norway (Professor Charles Ess), the Netherlands (Aline Franzke), and the UK (Dr Alison PowellDr Jat Singh).
