IoTUK and PETRAS team up to talk about Harnessing Economic Value

L I M

Over the past month IoTUK, the government-funded national programme designed to accelerate the UK’s Internet of Things (IoT) capability, and PETRAS have been working together to produce a dissemination series focusing on Harnessing Economic Value of the IoT.

The series starts with a blog written by Dr Razvan Nicolescu, digital anthropologist and PETRAS researcher at Imperial College London. In the introductory piece, found here, Razvan discusses potential scenarios which are already being impacted by IoT.

The series continues with a blog from Chris Speed, Chair of Design Informatics at the University of Edinburgh and a PETRAS project Principal Investigator, who discusses Blockchain technology and Initial Coin Offerings of Cryptocurrencies. A follow-up video explores a Blockchain workshop, ‘The Block Exchange’ designed by Chris and Researcher Ella Talyn.

Summarising the work on blockchain there is a blog looking at the applications of the technology for the IoT.

Keep an eye on the IoTUK website as there will be a couple more items joining the Harnessing Economic Value series.

Our next collaboration with IoTUK will cover Security and Privacy in the IoT, and will launch during March.
