PETRAS Community Development Event with the DigiPorts and PRISTINE Projects

L I M

Date: Monday 17 April 2023

Time: 13:30-14:30

PETRAS is delighted to host two PETRAS project presentations at the next online Community Development event.

DigiPorts: From Logistics 4.0 to Digital Ports: A study in transformability using DLT’s

Dr Michael Breza and Prof Julie McCann (Imperial College London).

Dr Michael Breza will present the role of IoT asset tracking sensors to link physical goods to Electronic Trade Documents stored in a Blockchain based Distributed Ledger. He will discuss the emerging area of Electronic Trade Documents, the parts of their proposed asset tracking system, and explain the use of this sensor system in a trial using an electron bill of lading for a goods container sent by sea from the UK to Singapore.

PRISTINE: Privacy-preserving Data Sharing and Trading Ecosystem for Distributed Wireless IoT Networks

Dr Xiaoshuai Zhang and Prof Lei Zhang (University of Glasgow).

Dr Zhang and Prof Zhang will be discussing the findings of their project, PRISTINE, that was recently completed. The project investigated how distributed ledger technology (DLT) could be applied in conjunction with two other important emerging technologies – the Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI) – to complement each other and establish a decentralised marketplace for privacy-preserving IoT data sharing and trading via wireless networks.
