Can the Public Hear, See or Touch Your Research: Public Engagement with Joe Bourne

PETRAS Community Development Event

L I M

Date: Monday 23 May 2022

Time: 15.00-16.00

Do you want to engage the public in your research? In the coming months PETRAS research will be showcased and explored at the British Science Festival, Cheltenham Science Festival, the Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh and more! In the past we have delivered exhibitions in the Tate, the V&A and the Barbican.

This surgery like event is an opportunity for those of you who would like to find out more about and influence PETRAS’s public engagement plans, generating ideas and identifying how we can support you. It will be led by Joe Bourne, PETRAS’s Synthesis Fellow with a specific remit for public engagement and creative communications, and will involve:

  • Sharing of inspiring examples of best practice in science communication and public engagement in science
  • Collective brainstorming of ideas and workshopping of ideas to engage the public in your research
  • An explanation of opportunities for platforms, funding and support available within PETRAS

Please contact Claire Coulton (c.coulton@ucl.ac.uk) or Joe Bourne (joe.bourne@ucl.ac.uk) for joining details.
